I am an equestrian & rural photographer based in North Yorkshire.  I come from a rural background having lived all my life in the countryside.  I was pony mad as a child and eventually my parents relented and purchased my first pony when I was nine years of age.  I became hooked on pony club and equestrian competitions which led me into a career within the equestrian industry for many years until an accident prevented me from riding .  My life then took a different turn and after having a child and labradors I became involved with shooting, working my gun dogs. and having my own point to pointer.  I  always had a camera about me and photographed everything we did so it seemed a natural progression to put my insight and ability to connect with my subjects to good use and produce images for other people to enjoy.  Capturing that unique moment  is my aim and not just the pretty picture – I portray the good, the bad, the nitty gritty and the emotions in my endeavour to produce a realistic portrayal of my subject.  I have a passion for hounds and hunting where there is such a diversity of people, landscape, wildlife and hounds, and to capture the ups and downs, thrills and spills of the equestrian world.
